attitude of gratitude

Pumpkin spice season is upon us, which means that Thanksgiving is just around the corner. I’m feeling very grateful as I sit at my desk wiping the Starbucks foam from my lip while my dog Hannibal is fast asleep on my feet. I just returned from a beautiful trip out West to visit my husband’s family, and now I have my family here for Thanksgiving. I feel like I’m surrounded by my cheerleading squad right now.

Amidst the hustle and bustle of turkey and lattes, it’s important to find time to slow down and reflect on our lives. To go beyond merely thinking about being grateful to truly feeling the gratitude in our hearts. Even when things seem to be falling apart or the deck is stacked against you, there is always space for appreciation. We bring about what we think about, so when you focus your thoughts and feelings to gratitude, you will experience more things that make you feel grateful.

BEYOND THE TURKEY AND LATTES

This Thanksgiving, I am genuinely grateful for my voice. I have entered a period in my life where I feel like I have a message to share, and where I can speak and act with conviction. I am grateful not only for the platform whereby I share my message but for the discovery of the word itself. Learning to lose self-judgement, choose who I want to be and take ownership of my life has not been an easy lesson to learn.

I am grateful that I now understand, and am committed to my life’s purpose of empowering others to take control of their mindset. I feel privileged to be able to work with such incredible clients and help them achieve their goals. I never have in my life felt so fulfilled, or purposeful in my career.

There were some difficult times and a lot of tears in my case. I’ve grown to love my overly emotional side, and laugh at the sometimes-embarrassing mistakes I’ve made. I am who I am, and I am so incredibly grateful for the journey I’ve experienced because it has allowed me to accept and love myself.

MY CHEERLEADING SQUAD

I didn’t do it alone; my family and friends have helped me through it all. They have helped me relax and enjoy life, and have supported me every step of the way. I have a husband who I am honoured to be with, a dog who is the best cuddle buddy ever, and a family who loves me. I have friends who I adore, and know will always give it to me straight. I have readers and supporters who interact and share their experiences with me and help me share my message.

What are you grateful for this Thanksgiving?
